STRONG — The Strong Historical Society will host “The Basics of Grafting” with Dave Fuller of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension on Wednesday, April 7.
Most gardeners can successfully graft fruit trees with a little practice, Fuller said.
The society’s potluck supper will start at 6 p. m. at the society home on Main Street. After a short business meeting at 7 p. m., Fuller will show the way to keep those old heritage varieties going for generations to come.

JAY — A free public supper will be held on Saturday, April 10, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Main Street. Doors will open at 4 p.m. and supper will be served from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The menu will include a turkey dinner, soup, bread, drink and desserts. The hall is handicapped accessible at the rear door.
