LEWISTON — The Longley-Dionne VFW Post 9150 will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, at the Multi-Purpose Center. All officers and members are encouraged to attend.
The agenda will include the State of Maine VFW Commander testimonial, Buddy Poppies and support for veterans serving the country.

LISBON FALLS — Pioneer Chapter 11, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 18, at the Lisbon Falls Masonic Hall, Route 196. There will be a potluck supper before the meeting at 6 p.m. All members of Pioneer Chapter are encouraged to attend.
POLAND — A fundraiser to benefit the Poland Regional High School Project Graduation will be held on Saturday, March 20, at the school.
There will be a dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m. A silent auction will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. and comedienne Karen Morgan will perform from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $15 each person and will be available at the door.
WINTHROP — A blood drive will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Thursday, March 25, at St. Francis Xavier Parish Hall, Route 133.
The drive is open to all donors and all are welcome. To schedule an appointment, call 1-800-GIVE LIFE. A form of identification will be required.
WINTHROP — Winthrop Grade School will hold kindergarten registration and screenings from Monday to Thursday, April 12 to 15. A child must be 5-years-old on or before Oct. 15 to register for kindergarten.
Preschool registration and screenings will be held Wednesday and Thursday, April 28 and 29. A child must be 4-years-old on or before Oct. 15 to register.
Call the school at 377-2241, ext. 101, to schedule an appointment. Bring the child, his or her original birth certificate, immunization record and a recent picture of the child.
LEWISTON — L and A Veterans Council has named Bert Dutil as chairman of the Memorial Day Parade, which will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 29. All units and organizations who wish to participate in the parade should contact Dutil at 23 Spofford St., Apt. 454, Lewiston, ME 04240 or by phone at 786-2305.
The Memorial Ceremony at Veterans Park will follow the parade. Chairman of the L and A Veterans Council Paul Bernard is responsible for the ceremony.
