Book sale

WILTON — The Wilton Library will have a book sale from noon to 5 p.m. Friday, March 19; from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 20; and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 21.

There will be a variety of used books including westerns, romance, fiction, nonfiction and children’s books. Everything is by donation; the buyer will choose how much to give. All money will go to the library.

Chowder lunch

FARMINGTON — The Fairbanks Union Church will hold a fish chowder luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, March 19. The lunch will include chowder, biscuit, pickles, cheese, dessert and coffee/tea beverage. For local delivery, within five miles of the church, call the church at 778-4705. The donation for the lunch is $6.

St. Pat’s dinner

SALEM TOWNSHIP — The Salem Township Fire Department and Auxiliary will host a St. Patrick’s dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 20, at Mt. Abram Regional High School.

The menu will include corned beef or ham with cabbage and all the trimmings, rolls and drinks. Music will be provided by A&E. Cost for adults is $7; seniors, $5; children, 7 to 12, $4; 6 and under, free; family, $18.

Breakfast buffet

BETHEL — The Rotary Club of Bethel will host an “all you can eat” buffet from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Sunday, March 21, at Ordway Dining Hall, Gould Academy, Church Street. Tickets are $7 in advance and $8 at the door. Tickets are available from club members or at the RiverView Resort, The Inn at Rostay, Mt. Mann Jewelers and Ellie’s Gym.

Proceeds will benefit the club’s community projects and scholarships.

Bean supper

NORWAY — A public baked bean supper will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 20, at the Norway Masonic Lodge Hall, 9 Temple St. Cost is $7; children under 12, $4. The menu will include beans, hot dogs, bread and homemade pies. Takeouts are available.

Movie event

OXFORD — The movie “The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry” will be shown at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, March 21, at Hosanna Church, 109 Schoolhouse Road. All are welcome. Popcorn and cold and hot drinks will be served. A love offering will be received to help defray costs, but there is no charge for admission.

The movie stars Gavin McLeod and was directed by Rich Christiano, who also directed “Time Changers.” Call Hosanna Church at 539-2295 for details.

Pizza contest

OXFORD — The third annual Best Pizza Concert will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 20, at the Oxford Station House Community Center. There will be cheese, pepperoni and vegetable pizza from several area businesses to taste. Participants will vote for their favorites.

The winners will receive certificates and the best overall will receive a plaque. There will be a minimum of $3 to enter. The contest is a fundraiser for the Oxford Recreation Department.
