POLAND — An Empty Bowls/Community Reads event will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, at Poland Regional High School. There will be a soup dinner where participants may purchase a pottery bowl for $5, to go towards the Empty Bowls project that supports the community food bank.
The Community Reads discussion theme will be about one’s relationship with the environment, featuring the book “The Lorax,” by Dr. Suess. There will be musical entertainment, the book discussion and informational booths on eating local.

TURNER — The College Ready Night, sponsored by SAD 52 Adult Education, has been rescheduled to Wednesday, March 24 at 6 p.m. at the Turner Adult Learning Center.
Topics to be covered include entrance exams, financial aid and applying for college. To register for the free event, call the office at 225-3478.
CASCO — The Casco Alliance Church, 450 Roosevelt Trail, will hold a Chinese Auction to benefit the church community programs and budget at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, April 10. Doors will open at 4 p.m. for viewing and bidding.
Many area businesses have donated items for the auction. There will be snacks and beverages prepared and served by the church’s woman’s group. There will be games for children with movies and popcorn available in the daycare area in the basement of the church.

LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on March 15 were as follows: first, Les Buzzell and Mary Leahey; second/third tie, Marta Clements and Nancy Lindgren with Sherry Hinckley and Luke Merry; first in B, Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe.

LEWISTON — Trinity Catholic School will host its annual fundraising auction at 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 30, at the Ramada Conference Center. There will be a live and silent auction that will include vacation packages, jewelry and sporting tickets.
