LEWISTON — The Marine Corps League Central Maine Detachment will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 25, at the Multi-Purpose Center, Birch Street.
Discussion will resume on the military funeral details. Plans on the upcoming Marine Rose Day will also be discussed. The meeting is open to Marines and Fleet Marine Force Corps.
GRAY — The Gray Public Library Association will hold its annual spring used book sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 27, in the library basement. There will be an early bird sale with a $5 admission fee from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 26.
There will be a collection of hardcover and paperback fiction sorted by genre and a nonfiction collection sorted into dozens of categories. The children’s area includes books for readers from toddlers through young adults. There will be audio books, VHS tapes, CDs and DVDs.
The public is invited to the sale. Most hardcover books are priced at $1 and paperbacks are 50 cents. All proceeds from the sale support the programs and activities of the Gray Public Library.
MECHANIC FALLS — The Down East Country Music Association will present a “Country Homecoming Show” from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 28, at the Silver Spur, Route 121. Entertainment will be provided by Tennessee competitors and award winners.
Admission is $6 for nonmembers; $5, members; $2, seniors and children under 12. There will be a food bar, raffles and a 50/50 drawing. Nomination ballots will be available for the 2010 election of officers. For more information, call Jackie at 793-8884 or Lolalee at 515-3922.
CASCO — The Casco Village Church United Church of Christ will have a public supper from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 27, in their Great Hall, Route 121. The supper will include traditional homemade baked beans, casseroles, salads and homemade pies.
It is sponsored by the Casco Village Church Choir and Music Committee. Cost for adults is $7; children 12 and under, $4. For more information, call 627-4282.
AUBURN — The Court Street Baptist Church will perform a “Living Last Supper” from 7 to 8 p.m., on Palm Sunday, March 28. The performance will include theater, music and a communion service. Child care will be available beginning at 6:30 p.m. The church is located on Court Street.
