LEWISTON — Adina Roskies, an assistant professor of philosophy at Dartmouth College, will discuss the limitations and potential for neuroscience in the study of free will at 4:15 p.m. Thursday, March 25, at Bates College, in Pettengill Hall’s Keck Classroom, Room G52, Alumni Walk.
The lecture is open to the public at no cost.
MECHANIC FALLS — The Mechanic Falls Historical Society will hold a roast beef supper for the community from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 27, at the Congregational Hall, the former First Congo Church.
Cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children 12 and under.
AUBURN — Members of Danville Junction Grange will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 25, at the hall. Members are reminded to bring something for the program, which will be on hobbies or crafts. Refreshments will be served at the close of the meeting. All members and guests are welcome.
On Friday, March 26, Danville Junction Grange and Excelsior Grange will be guests of Sabbathday Lake Grange in New Gloucester for a joint meeting. Supper will be served at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 7:30.
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on March 18 were: first, Bert Belanger and Ron Hynes; second, Steve Agurkis and Ed Madden; third place tie, Monique Nadeau and Norm Bissonette with Claire Jean and Betty Ames; fourth, Bill Mickalide and Terry Chambers; fifth, Hope Hughes and Aaron Burke.
The next game will be played at 9 a.m. Thursday, March 25.
LISBON FALLS — Pioneer Chapter 11, Order of the Eastern Star, will hold installation of officers at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 25, at the Masonic Hall, Route 196. Stephanie Dupal, grand conductress, and John Cousins, grand sentinel, will be the installing officers for the evening.
Worthy Matron Josephine Dupal, Worthy Patron Samuel Kelly and their officers will be installed. Refreshments will be served following the meeting. It is a public installation and anyone interested in learning more about Order of the Eastern Star is welcome to attend.
