Seniors trips

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens have announced the following trips: Tuesday, April 13, “Stars on Ice,” Cumberland County Civic Center; Tuesday, April 27, Hollywood Slots in Bangor; Thursday, May 27, Gateway dinner and show, Mass.; Tuesday, June 22, Spirit of Boston boat ride, lunch and entertainment; Wednesday, July 14, North Shore Theater to see “Gypsy.”

Breakfast fundraiser

AUBURN — A pancake breakfast fundraiser will be held from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Sunday, March 28, at Applebee’s Restaurant. The proceeds will benefit Loaves and Fishes, a loan fund established in 1997 to help Sabattus area residents in crisis. The fund has helped many families with food and other necessities such as fuel, taxes, housing and medicine.

It also services a food pantry and a clothes closet. The fund has an all volunteer board of directors and all proceeds of the year-round fundraisers go to people who need help. For more information on Loaves and Fishes, visit www.sabattusdominicans.org.

Spring fair

POLAND — The Poland Community Church will hold a Spring Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 27. There will be crafts, twice nice, silent auction, homemade foods and chocolates and a luncheon. The event will benefit the Tri-Town Food Bank.

Easter dinner

LEWISTON — Hope Haven Gospel Mission will offer a free Easter dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, April 4, at 209 Lincoln St. All who are in need are welcome. The meal will be available to shut-ins as well. Call 783-6086 for delivery.

Bridge play

LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on March 22 were as follows: first, Marta Clements and Nancy Lindgren; second, Les Buzzell and Paul Sherman; third, Paul Mitnik and Henry Lerette; fourth, Dick Allen and Pete Cummings.

Games are played at 9 a.m. Mondays and Tuesdays and at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays, at Schooner Estates. A partner is guaranteed. Call Rosemarie Goodwin at 754-1431 for information about all duplicate bridge games in the area.

Clothing distribution

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Root Cellar will hold a clothing distribution from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday, March 29, in the Community Center, 89 Birch St.

All people who wish to receive clothing will need to use the Root Cellar’s Pierce Street entrance. The clothing is for all ages and is free of charge. For more information, contact the Root Cellar at 782-3659.
