Egg hunt

WEST PARIS — The Friends of the West Paris Library will sponsor an Easter Egg Hunt for West Paris toddlers through first graders, at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 3, at the library. Children should bring a basket or other container for their eggs and should be accompanied by an adult.

There will be a gift for each child, in addition to the Easter eggs found during the hunt. The lucky finder of one marked egg will receive a special prize. The festivities will conclude with a story and a craft.


OXFORD — Registration and screening for next year’s kindergarten at Oxford Elementary School is scheduled for Thursday, May 13. Children who will be 5-years-old on or before Oct. 15 are eligible to attend kindergarten. Appointments are scheduled in the order they are requested. Parents will need to bring the child’s original birth certificate, current immunizations records, most recent physical exam, legal documents and any preschool special services documents.

Kids Can Grow

SOUTH PARIS — The UMaine Cooperative Extension in Oxford County is accepting applications for the 2010 Kids Can Grow program. Youth, ages 7 to 12, will practice gardening techniques in a series of workshops to be held at the Extension office. The techniques will be repeated in their home gardens where they will be assisted by Master Gardener Volunteers who will serve as mentors to the young gardeners.

Community breakfast

RANGELEY — The next ladies/community breakfast, with everyone invited to attend, will be held from 7 to 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, at Saddleback Ski Lodge, Saddleback Mountain. Anyone with special dietary needs should call in advance for accommodations. For more information, call 864-5671.

Public supper

JAY — A public supper will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 3, at the North Jay Grange 10. There will be baked beans, casseroles, cole slaw, salads, beverages, rolls and dessert.
