Registration set

OXFORD — Registration and screening for next year’s kindergarten at Oxford Elementary School is scheduled for Thursday, May 13. Children who will be 5 on or before Oct. 15 are eligible to attend kindergarten.

Appointments are scheduled in the order they are requested so parents are encouraged to call the school office soon to set up a 15-minute appointment. On registration day they will need the following: original birth certificate (certified by the town the child was born in, not the hospital record), current immunizations records, most recent physical exam, legal documents and preschool special services documents.

Easter service

PARIS — Trinity Lutheran Church, 34 Buckfield Road, South Paris, will hold Easter services at 10:15 a.m. Sunday, April 4. All are welcome.

Knitting guild

PARIS — The Western Maine Knitting Guild will meet from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, April 6, at the Haskell House next door to the First Congregational Church, South Paris. Marvis Maynard will show and explain some videos on knitting.

If there is no school because of a storm, there will be no meeting.

Utility workshop

PARIS — A workshop will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, to discuss updating the Paris Utility District’s terms and conditions. The session will be held at the district office, 1 Paris Hill Road.

Square dance

PARIS — The Swingin’ Bears Square Dance Club will have a mainstream/plus level square dance from 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday, April 10, with Lee Kennedy calling for the square dancing and Bernie Porter cueing the round dancing.

Admission is $6 a person. There will be door prizes, 50/50 and refreshments at intermission. The dance will be held at the Oxford Hills Middle School, Pine Street, South Paris. Nondancers are welcome at no charge.

Rotary speaker

BRIDGTON — The Bridgton Lake Region Rotary Club’s next breakfast meeting speaker will be Mody Botros of Its About Time Graphics. He will discuss “Egypt: A Travel Destination” at 7:15 a.m. Thursday, April 15, at the Bridgton Alliance Church Fellowship Hall.

Bridge play

NORWAY — Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met March 26 in the Fare Share, Main Street, where a five-table Howell movement was played.

Finishing first in flight A were Pete Cummings and Dick Allen; second, Bev Pelletier and Jim Dickens, also first in flight B; third, Jim Fallon and Richard Worthington,  second in flight B; fourth, Audrey Burns and Linda Leotsakos; fifth, Priscilla Rooth and Hazel Glazier, third in flight B.

Finishing first in flight C were Linda Smith and Jack Neal.
