Indoor yard sale
WATERFORD — The first indoor yard sale of the season will take place from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 17, on Plummer Hill next to the church.
PARIS — The Oxford Hills Chapter of AARP will meet Monday, April 12, at the First Congregational Church, East Main Street, South Paris. Menu will be honey glazed chicken with a surprise dessert, to be served at noon. The cost is $6.50, and reservations are required by calling Ruth at 744-9069 by noon Friday, April 9.
The meeting will begin at 1 p.m. It is the final opportunity to bring small items for the shut-ins. Speaker will be Gary Freeman of Mt. Mica with facts on mining minerals in the area.
Seniors to meet
BETHEL — The Bethel Senior Citizens Club will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 14, at the Funky Red Barn. Reservations must be made before Monday, April 12, by calling Nancy at 824-3350 or Arlene at 824-2877. Price of dinner is $8. Speaker will be Rodney Abbott.
HARRISON — Public suppers will be held at 5:30 p.m. Saturdays, April 10 and May 8, at the VFW Post 9328, Waterford Road. There will be beans, casseroles, salads, pies and beverages. Dances will follow at 7 p.m. The supper cost is $7; dance, $3; children 12 and under, supper, $3.50. The events are being sponsored by the VFW Auxiliary.
BRIDGTON — An American Red Cross babysitter training course will be offered from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday and Friday, April 19 and 23, at the Bridgton Community Center. It is recommended for ages 11 to 14. Registration deadline is Tuesday, April 13. Call Lorraine at 647-3116 for details.
PARIS — A roast pork public supper will be sponsored by the Paris Fire Department Auxiliary at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 10, at the Paris Fire Station, Western Avenue. Cost will be adults, $7; ages 4 to 12, $4; ages 3 and under, free. There will be a 50/50 raffle.

OXFORD — The Oxford County Soil and Water Conservation District annual sale will offer a selection of 61 native conservation plants. The proceeds will go toward the district programming.
