FARMINGTON — The Farmington Emblem Club 460 hosted the third meeting of the Maine State Association of Emblem Clubs on March 28 at the Farmington Elks Lodge. The welcome was given by Becky Powell, president of the Farmington Emblem Club, and the response was given by Sondra Woodrum of Lewiston, third vice president of the Maine Association.
A luncheon of chowders, finger rolls and desserts was enjoyed by all. A basket raffle and the annual fundraiser raffle was held after lunch.
INDUSTRY — The Clearwater Extension Homemakers will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 8, at Shorey Chapel. The planned program will be about square-foot gardening. All are welcome to attend.
LIVERMORE FALLS — The jazz ensemble “I Don’t Know” will present a concert at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, April 11, at Eaton Memorial United Methodist Church. The group, featuring professional musicians from around the state, will perform some standards and some newer selections from rock to jazz.
The group is under the direction of Joe Kingston, a well-known musician in the Portland area. Opening for “I Don’t Know” will be the Dirigo High School Jazz Band, under the direction of Ken Labrecque, music teacher at Dirigo. The public is welcome to attend.
