RUMFORD — The Rumford Area Quilters will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 12, at the Rumford United Methodist Church, Linnell Street. A guest will be in attendance to demonstrate a quilt product. A fabric swap is also planned. Those participating are requested to bring one-and-one-half yards of 100 percent cotton kid-friendly fabric (juvenile print), washed, dried, ironed and cut into six-and-one-half-inch squares.

RUMFORD — A Community Networking Meeting sponsored by the River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition will be held at noon Tuesday, April 20, at the Rumford Public Library downstairs in the community room. Participants are reminded to bring their own lunch.
Suzanne Dunham will present information on gluten intolerance and celiac disease. Dunham is an herbalist who has concentrated on nutrition, especially on gluten intolerance. Research has shown that one in 133 people have celiac disease or gluten intolerance and 90 percent of those do not realize it.

MEXICO — A roast pork public supper will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 10, at the Mexico UCC, the Green Church. Cost for adults is $7; children under 12, $3.
LEWISTON — Twenty-two members of the Red Hat Mommas of Western Maine traveled to Lewiston on April 1 for a luncheon at Lewiston High School’s Green Ladle. The luncheon took the place of the group’s March meeting. Three March birthdays were noted.
The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 5, at LaFleur’s in Jay. The teapot exchange will be held at the meeting. Members will leave the Dixfield Post Office area at 5 p.m.
