Grange month

AUBURN — In conjunction with Grange Month, Danville Junction Grange 65 will hold an open meeting on Thursday, April 8. Dessert will be served at 6 p.m. and the program will begin at 7.

State Master James Owens will be present to award membership certificates to several long-standing members. The 135th birthday of Danville Junction Grange will also be celebrated. Past Masters of the Grange will be guests for the evening and a Community Service Award will be presented to a well-known member of the community. An appreciation certificate will be given to a deserving grange member. In addition, there will be music, readings and a skit. The public is invited to the event.

AUBURN — The Pleasant Note Coffeehouse will present an open mic and poetry slam at 7:15 p.m. Friday, April 9, at the First Universalist Church, 169 Pleasant St.

Dog obedience

AUBURN — Great Falls Dog Obedience Club will begin another six-week dog obedience class starting Wednesday, April 14. Dogs and puppies must be at least 3 1/2 months old and vaccinated. For more information and to register, call Diane Harrington at 784-7578.

Golden Age group

AUBURN — The Golden Age Group of Sacred Hearts Church will meet for coffee and socializing at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, in the church basement. A Chinese chop suey dinner will be served at noon.

There will be a short session of group singing accompanied by Roland Bergeron at the piano, followed by the business meeting and the usual giveaways, 50/50 and other drawings. The cost is $5 and reservations can be made by contacting Paula Baril at 576-4082, no later than Friday, April 9. Those attending are reminded to bring canned goods or donations for the food pantry.
