Bottle drive

RUMFORD — A bottle drive will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 17, for Mountain Valley High School wrestlers to go to the Maine-Nebraska Friendship Tournament.

Autism awareness

FARMINGTON — In recognition of Autism Awareness Month, Project Educate will host a free ice cream social (Rice and Soy Dream also available) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 17, at the University of Maine at Farmington Olsen Student Center. The event will feature magician and balloon artist Scot Grassette.

Homemakers

PERU — The Peru Extension Homemakers will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, at the Peru Baptist Church. The meeting will be about birds, bees and butterflies. Attendees should bring a bag lunch.

Relay benefit

CANTON — The Canton Cruisers Relay for Life Team will sponsor a Chinese/silent auction on Saturday, April 17, at the Canton new fire station. Doors will open at 2 p.m. and the auction will begin at 4 p.m.

Hot dogs, chili, chips, desserts and drinks will be available. A partial list of auction items will be available at the Town Office or through team members. Proceeds will benefit River Valley Relay for Life.
