Cribbage results

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on April 8 were: first, Sue Dunlop and Sandy Oliver; second, Ed Madden and Steve Agurkis; third, Linda Dostie Scott and Robert Cielinski; fourth, Claire Jean and Norm Bissonette; fifth, Guy Dube and John Violette. 

The next game will be played at 9 a.m. Thursday, April 15.

Talent contest

POLAND — The second annual Excelsior Grange Talent Contest will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 17, at the Grange Hall, 446 Harris Hill Road. Admission is $3 for adults and free for children under 12. Entrants will be in two age categories: youth, age 4 to 15 and adults, age 16 and up.

Prizes will include $100 for first place and $50 for second place in each age category, to be awarded by the judges. The audience will vote one act as the Peoples Choice with a prize of $50. Entertainers Katie St. Pierre and Mitch Thomas will perform while the judge’s votes are tallied.

Bridge play

LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners of the annual membership club championship at the Multi-Purpose Center on April 12 were as follows: first, Dick Allen and Pete Cummings; second, Cynthia and Bill Clifford; third, Lue Bilodeau and Luke Merry.

Games are played at 9 a.m. Monday and Tuesday and at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, at Schooner Estates. A partner is guaranteed. Call Rosemarie at 754-1431 for information about all duplicate bridge games in the area.

GAHS fundraiser

LEWISTON — Governor’s Restaurant second annual campaign to support the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society is set for Sunday, April 19. On that day only, 10 percent of all sales and server tips at the Governor’s, 1185 Lisbon St., will be given to the society.

Also during April, Governor’s will collect donated supplies such as animal food, animal toys, cleaning and office supplies to help the society. Anyone who makes a donation will be entered into a drawing for a $25 Governor’s gift card. For more information, call 753-0173.

Breakfast fundraiser

AUBURN — The Lewiston High School girls’ softball team will host a pancake breakfast fundraiser from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday, April 18, at the 99 Restaurant, Center Street. Cost is $5. For more information, call 240-4392.

AARP meeting

LEWISTON — The Androscoggin Chapter 4077 of AARP will meet at 1:15 p.m. Monday, April 19, at the Multi-Purpose Center, 145 Birch St. John Jenkins will speak on the topic of safety. Everyone is invited to attend.

There will be refreshments following the meeting. There will be a board meeting at 12:30 prior to the general meeting.
