Retired educators

MEXICO — The Oxford County Education Association-Retired will meet on Friday, April 16, at the at Mexico Congregational Church, Main Street, the Green Church. A social will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by the business meeting at 11 and lunch at noon.

A musical presentation and cookie walk fundraiser will begin at 12:45 p.m. To reserve a lunch, call 743-7677.

RUMFORD — The Mexico High School Class of 1948 will meet for a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 14, at the River Valley Grill.

Public supper

RUMFORD — The Rumford United Methodist Church will serve a public supper from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 17.  The meal will consist of meatballs, casseroles, meatloaf, cole slaw, rolls, pies and beverages. The cost is $6 each person. For more information, contact Judy Kuhn at 364-7242.

Stephens High

BETHEL — The Stephens High School Class of 1945 will have a luncheon at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, April 15, at the Red Rooster. Those who need a ride and plan to attend may call Connie at 364-8785 or Muriel at 545-2709.

Cake bingo

DIXFIELD — The Dunham Chapter of the the National Honor Society at Dirigo High School will host a cake bingo night from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 2, in the high school cafeteria. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children. The event is being held in support of Gabby Severence.

Society grant

BETHEL — Bethel Historical Society Executive Director Randall H. Bennett has announced that the society has received a $500 grant from the Franklin Savings Bank Community Development Foundation toward the purchase of a digital projector and accessories.

When acquired, the equipment will assist the organization in making state-of-the-art presentations to historical groups, schools, community organizations and other audiences at public events.

“This grant is an important step toward digitizing society presentations,” said Bennett. “We also are hopeful of finding additional funding to digitize our collection of 15,000 slides to make that available as well,” he added.
