DIXFIELD — Neighborly Senior Citizens will meet on Wednesday, April 21, at the Dixfield Legion. The meeting will start at 11 a.m. followed by a free roast pork dinner to all who have paid 2010 dues. New members are welcome and dues may be paid that day.
Entertainment will be by Bing and Nancy Crosby. Members are asked to bring items for a food sale.
There are still a few seats available for the Bill Gaither Homecoming Tour on Friday, April 23, at the Cumberland County Civic Center. Price is $58.50 each person and the trip is open to the public. GREENWOOD — Maine Democratic candidates for governor will highlight the Oxford County Democrats supper and “Meet the Candidates” event at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, at the Locke Mills Legion Hall, off Gore Road.
The event will also highlight the legislative and county Democratic candidates for 2010. Hosts include Nancy Willard, John Patrick, Roy Gedat, Cathy Newell, Colby Davis and Miriam Laster, with a complete list to be acknowledged at the dinner. The event will feature a social time from 5:30 to 6 p.m., a lasagna dinner prepared by the legion at 6 p.m. and a forum on youth issues.
Tickets are $10 and will be sold at the door. Advance reservations would be appreciated by calling 875-2116.
CARTHAGE — The Carthage Historical Society will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, for a potluck supper at the museum. Those attending should bring a favorite dish.
A meeting will follow the supper along with a discussion regarding the proposed newsletter. Attendees are asked to bring any articles or information they would like in the newsletter.
