Grange meeting

AUBURN — Members of Danville Junction Grange will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 22. During the program, Lucille Webber will speak on her mission trip to John’s Island, off the coast of Charlotte, S.C.

Refreshments will be served after the meeting. All members and guests are welcome.

Greek cooking

TURNER — SAD 52 Adult and Community Education will offer a second Greek cooking class from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 22. Participants will learn traditional Greek cooking and an entree and dessert will be prepared. Maximum number of students is 8.

OES to meet

WALES — Lakeside Chapter 60, Order of the Eastern Star, will hold a special meeting with guest officers on Tuesday, April 27, to exemplify the degrees of the Order for candidates. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the Masonic Hall, 322 Centre Road. Light refreshments will be served after the meeting.

A rehearsal will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 25. Officers are requested to be present. For more information, call Violet Gerber, secretary, at 375-2698.

Society construction

NEW GLOUCESTER — The New Gloucester Historical Society has announced the phase two of the construction at the New Gloucester History Barn will begin soon. It will include finishing the interior of the main display level and finishing the second floor work and storage area.

The work will take about two months and will necessitate the cancellation of both the May and June open houses at the History Barn. The next monthly open house should be in July.

Book sale

AUBURN — The Auburn Public Library Advocates will sponsor the spring book sale from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 24, at the library, 49 Spring St.

There will be thousands of books ranging in price from 25 cents to $1 with some special items separately priced. During the last hour, a full tote bag of books will be $5. There will be a special preview for booksellers at 8 a.m.

Distribution day

AUBURN — Auburn AC Serve, a part of Serve New England’s food and volunteer program, will have its Distribution Day from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 24, at the Auburn Advent Christian Church, 263 Turner St., Whitney Street entrance.
