Parent presentation

LISBON — Lisbon parents and families are invited to attend a free presentation at 6:30 p.m., Monday, May 10, at the Philip W. Sugg Middle School library. At the program, sponsored by Lisbon Police Department and the PWS Parent Action Group, Lisbon Detective Bernard McAllister and Assistant District Attorney Deb Cashman will address issues and legal aspects surrounding text messaging, cell phone usage and other areas of harassment.

Box top collection

MINOT — The Minot Consolidated School challenged its 264 students to see which class could collect the most box tops for the Box Tops For Education fundraiser.

The school’s goal was to earn $1,000. Mrs. Shea’s third-grade class collected a total of 825 to win their class an ice cream and pizza party, and Minot raised a total of $1,024 to help with school activities.

Travelers meeting

MECHANIC FALLS — Members of Twin City Council 160 of the United Commercial Travelers of America will meet at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 8, at Bucknam Oaks, for a business meeting. After the meeting, they will dine at the Loose Caboose Restaurant. All members and guests are welcome.

Soccer camp

TURNER — SAD 52 Adult Education will offer an introduction to the Challenger Sports British Summer Soccer Camp from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 22. The camp is the largest and most popular summer soccer camp program in the U.S. and Canada. The camp is for ages 4 to 14, and parent or guardian must accompany child.

Breastfeeding support

AUBURN — Expectant women and breastfeeding mothers are invited to the La Leche League meeting to be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 12, at 102 Bennett Ave. Babies are welcome. The discussion will focus on “The Advantages of Breastfeeding For Mother and Baby.” 

All concerns about breastfeeding are welcome for discussion. For breastfeeding help or directions to the meeting, call the La Leche League leader at 782-6645.

MS support

LEWISTON — The next MS Support Group and Caregivers meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, at the Lepage Conference, 99 Campus Ave. Another MS Support Group meeting will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, May 14, and the second Friday of each month, at the United Methodist Church, 439 Park Ave., Auburn.
