MEXICO —The River Valley Farmers Market will open Friday, May 27, at 53 River Rd. (Labonville parking lot). The market opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 3 p.m. every Friday. For more information, call Jessica Roy at 357-1304.
The market will offer fresh home and local produce, beef and bakery items. Mainstays of the market, Grandma’s House Bakery and Gardens, Clay Hill Farm, Roy’s Family Farm, Kimball Farm and C& L Kitchen are prepared to offer a good selection on opening day. Grandma’s House B&G is offering beet greens, mixed and romaine head lettuces, pak choi along with rhubarb pie, 12-grain bread and GOGO power bars. Clay Hill Farm offers grass-fed Angus beef in a variety of frozen cuts and chicken eggs. Kimball Farm offers farm-fresh eggs. C&L Kitchen offers their own Maine maple syrup and more. New to the market this year are Thurston’s Family Farm, Peru, who are growers of vegetables and producers of Maine maple syrup. Also, No View Farm of Rumford joins the market with vegetables, baked goods and more. Other members joining us later in the season are Foxgloves and Daisies, perennial flowering plants from Andover, and Kangas Farm apples, fruit and vegetables from Bryant Pond.
RUMFORD — The Lithuanian Heritage Club will hold its next origination meeting at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, at Sam’s Italian Restaurant. The Lithuanian picnic is planned for Aug. 20 at Black Mountain of Maine.
