Service theme: Music, memories

PARIS — Music and Memories is the theme for the Jan. 6 worship service at the First Universalist Church on Pine Street. Marilyn Hammond and Sharon Bouchard will facilitate the 10 a.m. service, which will include several hymns, selections from the choir and a flute solo with Renee Wales.

Music is under the direction of Linda Stowell and Sunday School is under the direction of Renee Wales. Coffee and fellowship will follow the worship service. All are welcome and childcare is available. The First Universalist Church is wheelchair accessible.

Texas hold’em tournament

OXFORD — A Texas hold’em tournament will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, and Friday, Jan. 25, at the Sons of the American Legion.

The cost is $35. Food will be available from the kitchen.

Doors open at 5 p.m. Door prizes will be drawn.

Rabies clinic, microchipping

NORWAY — A rabies vaccination and microchipping clinic sponsored by Responsible Pet Care will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Norway Fire Station. Rabies, $10; microchipping, $25.

The attending veterinarian will be Dr. Suzanne Best. Microchipping pets will aid in locating them should a disaster occur or if they are lost.

Fish and Game elects officers

PARIS — The Norway-Paris Fish and Game Association held the annual election of officers at the Dec. 19 meeting.

The slate of officers for 2013 is Steve Tobin, president; Mike Rolfe, vice president; Jane Jones, secretary; Freda Truman and Carol Teague, treasurers; Sylvia Bosse, publicity; and Sam Giles, safety.

The board of directors for the coming year is Fern Bosse, Cindy Ouellette, Mike Bailey, Wayne Alberi and Glenn Huntley.

The club meets the third Wednesday of each month at the club house, 744 Buckfield Road, South Paris.

The Jan. 16 meeting will be the annual “Wild Game” supper, featuring wild game dishes and homemade desserts. All are welcome. For more information about the club visit www.npfg.org.
