Dance, music by Campground Band

JAY — A dance with music by the Campground Band will take place from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at the VFW Hall, 64 Jewel St.

Thomas College rep at Spruce Mtn.

JAY — A representative from Thomas College will visit Spruce Mountain High School – North at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10.

The representative will meet with students to discuss Thomas’ academic and sports programs, and its residential life opportunities.

Wilton ice fishing derby is Feb. 16

WILTON — The Wilton Fish & Game will hold their annual ice fishing derby on Wilson Lake on Sunday, Feb. 16, Maine Free Fishing Day.

Presale tickets may be purchased at Shelley’s Hometown Market, East Wilton, or may be purchased on derby day at the Wilton Boat Launch starting at 6 a.m. Final weigh-in will be at 4 p.m. Registration is $5.

A free Family Fishing Clinic will be offered from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the boat launch. Emily MacCabe from the MDIFW Hooked on Fishing Program will provide instruction for families interested in learning how to fish. No experience required, bait and equipment provided.

Prizes will be awarded for the heaviest fish in adult and youth categories. Multiple door prizes. Lunch will be available by the WF&G Youth Competition League as their fundraiser. For more information call Alan at 645-2450.
