Lewiston Bridge Club winners

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners at the Lewiston Armory on Feb. 3 were as follows: first, Rosemarie and Tom Goodwin; second, Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe; third, Mary Trafton and Luke Merry; fourth, Cynthia and Bill Clifford; first in B, Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe; second, Cynthia and Bill Clifford.

Winners on Feb. 4 were: first, Jan and Vern Arey; second, Rosemarie Goodwin and Tom Dahlberg; third/fourth tie, Kathy Burden and Mary Trafton with Patricia Garcia and David Lock; first in B, Kathy Burden and Mary Trafton; second, Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe; first in C, Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe.

High masterpoint winners in January were: first, Les Buzzell; second, David Lock; third, Luke Merry; fourth, Jeanine Kivus.

Games are every Monday and Tuesday at 9 a.m. in the Seniors’ Room at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave.

Camp Susan Curtis Board of Trustees

STONEHAM — Recently elected to serve on the Board of Trustees for the Susan L. Curtis Charitable Foundation and Camp Susan Curtis are Paul C. White, president of Paul G. White Interior Solutions; Michael Griffin, senior vice president and senior client manager for Bank of America; Tracy Eames, internal and brand communications, Reference Labs at IDEXX; and Chris Logan, executive vice president of Androscoggin Bank.

Camp Susan Curtis is a unique outdoor experiential learning program that teaches economically disadvantaged Maine children, ages 8 to 17, the habits and skills they need to succeed in school and in life. Since 1974, more than 15,000 Maine boys and girls have benefited from the transformative curriculum and positive role models, making it fun to learn and inspiring some of Maine’s most vulnerable children to set and achieve essential life goals. The Foundation’s administrative offices are in Portland.

Child safety seat inspections

NORWAY — The staff at the Family Birthplace is urging parents, caregivers and grandparents to make sure their child safety seats are properly installed on Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Norway Fire Department between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will be available to provide free, hands-on seat inspections.

It is not necessary to have the child present, but if possible it is best to bring them. Child care will be available as needed.

Benefit supper for Howard family

OXFORD – The Anderson Staples American Legion, 169 King St./Route 121, will host a benefit supper from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, for the family of Gary Howard.

The supper will include meatloaf, potatoes, veggies and other dishes. Desserts will be an assortment of pies, cakes and other treats.

A donation of $6 for adults and $3 for children under 13 will all go to the Howard family to help Roberta Howard in this time of need.
