Gymnastics start at GRCC

RUMFORD — The GRCC Gymnastics is proud to offer the new monthly session of recreational gymnastics. The classes are offered as the following: Pee Wee on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 to 4 p.m., Lions from 4 to 5 p.m. and Tigers from 5 to 6 p.m. Each is $40 and classes will start on Tuesday, Oct. 14.

Children can try out one class for free to see if they will enjoy it.

A tot class is offered on Thursdays from 9 to 10 a.m. The cost is $5 per class.

A competition and tumble cheerleader group meets on Sundays at the GRCC. Ask for information on this class. Tryouts for the competition team will be Oct. 25.

Bean supper at Turner Universalist

TURNER — A bean supper will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at the Turner Center Universalist Church, across from the Leavitt Institute Building on Route 117 in Turner Center.

Menu will include two kinds of beans, red hot dogs, coleslaw, rolls, beverages and pies. Donations which will be used for the upkeep of the historical church will be greatly appreciated.

Sumner volunteer FD ticket auction

BUCKFIELD — Sumner Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will hold its bi-annual ticket auction on Saturday, Oct. 18, at Buckfield Jr. Sr. High School. Doors open at 11 a.m.; drawing will be at 1 p.m.

Funds raised this year will go to earn a self contained breathing apparatus fill station (SCBA).

Gail Saviello Memorial Tennis Scrambles

WILTON — Players are wanted for the Gail Saviello Memorial Tennis Scrambles which will be held from 9 a.m. to mid-afternoon Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Academy Hill School tennis courts. Rain date is Oct. 19 at 11 a.m.

Individuals will sign up the same day as the tournament; just show up at the courts. Each player will have different doubles partners during the day.

This is a fundraiser to help maintain the clay courts and for programs at the Wilton Free Public Library. Donation is $15 adults, $5 for students 18 and under. Snacks and lunch for players will be provided by the Tyngtown Club of Wilton.
