Ticket auction hosted by FD
BUCKFIELD — A ticket auction will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at Buckfield High School. Drawings will start at 1 p.m.
Refreshments will be on sale, and a 50/50 raffle and grab bags will be available.
The auction is hosted by the Sumner Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.
Buffet supper features Finnish food
WEST PARIS — A buffet supper featuring Finnish, American and other ethnic foods will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Finnish-American Heritage Center, 8 Maple St.
Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12. The supper is hosted by the Finnish-American Heritage Society.
Land trust to sponsor walk
LOVELL — Join the Greater Lovell Land Trust for a guided walk at the Heald and Bradley Pond Reserve from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 18. Participants should meet at the Gallie Trail parking lot on Route 5 across from Palmer Lane.
Docents will lead participants along the Gallie Trail to the summit of Whiting Hill (801 feet). Dress for the season and wear comfortable walking or hiking shoes. Bring a water bottle and trail snack. Binoculars and cameras are encouraged.
All ages are welcome. Activity level is moderate with some uneven terrain and off-trail hiking.

Weary Club to hold coffee
NORWAY — The members and friends of the Weary Club will meet for coffee from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18. The Weary Club is a part of Norway’s heritage and is a local institution.
Annual OVFA Harvest Dance
OTISFIELD — The Otisfield Volunteer Firefighter Association is hosting its 11th annual Harvest Dance at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18. Doors will open at 7. The dance will take place at the Otisfield Community Hall, Route 121.
The SF Jones Band will provide the music. Cost is $10 a person. There will also be a raffle. Free snacks and coffee will be provided.
Proceeds from the dance will go toward the purchase of a fire-rescue ATV for the Otisfield Fire Department.

CPR, first aid class being offered
OXFORD — A CPR and first aid class will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Oxford Public Safety Building.
Instruction will include basic first aid, CPR for adults, children and infants and use of an automated external defibrillator.
On completion of the one-day class, a two-year certification in accordance with the American Heart Association will be given. The certification is accepted for day/child care providers, loggers, guides, teachers and any other non-healthcare related professions.
Call to confirm the date. Groups may request to schedule a class at their convenience. Healthcare BLS CPR recertifications are done as needed one-on-one.
The next scheduled classes will be at 9 a.m. Nov. 8 and Dec. 27.

Chinese Auction slated for Saturday
PARIS — A Chinese Auction will be held Saturday, Oct. 18, at Oxford Hills Middle School, 100 Pine St. Doors will open at 4 p.m., and tickets will be sold until 6.

Amvets to host harvest supper
PARIS — A harvest supper, hosted by Amvets Post 777, will take place Saturday, Oct. 18, at the VFW Post 9787, Lower Main Street.
The first sitting will be from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m; second sitting from 5:15 to 6 p.m. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for ages 12 and under.
Final yard sale of season
WATERFORD — Saturday, Oct. 18, will be the last yard sale of the season at the Wilkins House on Plummer Hill Road. It will be held from 8 a.m. to noon. Proceeds benefit the church and the Wilkins House.
Library to hold buck-a-bag sale
WEST PARIS — The West Paris Library Buck-a-Bag Sale will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Historical Society Building, Main Street, across the from the library.
There will be a chance to win a raffle prize.
Land trust to have speaker
BETHEL — The Mahoosuc Land Trust 25th annual meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, in the Ordway Living Room at Gould Academy.
After a brief business meeting, Peter Forbes, conservationist, writer and co-founder of Center for Whole Communities, will speak on “Re-imagining Conservation as Building Community.”
The public is welcomed to attend the program. There is a $5 donation requested if not a Mahoosuc Land Trust donor.
