CNA class begins in November
MEXICO — Want to get a new career? Always wanted to work in a field that helps people? Want to try the medical field, but not sure where to start? Why not start with the fall Certified Nursing Assistant course at Region 9 Adult Education. There are still a few openings in the class — start in November and be working by next March.
A CNA can work in a nursing home, a hospital or do in-home care, and there is always a demand. Help people who need your care every day at work. Learn the basics of the medical field and decide if you want to move up the ladder.
Classes are Tuesday and Thursdays from 2:30 to 7:30 p.m. Students will learn medical terminology, CPR and body systems as well as how to care for patients. The class also includes working at three different sites to gain real life experience that helps with job searches. All successful students sit for the state board exam and may be eligible to work shortly after taking the exam.
To find out if you qualify for the class, come to Region 9 Adult Education on Mondays through Thursdays at 9 a.m. Help will be given to fill out the necessary paperwork for admittance into the class.
The cost of the class is $980 plus a $32 fee for a background check.
Call Nancy Allen at 364-2012 if you have any questions.
