Guests invited to Auburn Art Club

AUBURN — The Auburn Art Club will meet at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, at the Park Avenue Methodist Church. It is the annual guest day, and members are encouraged to invite someone to attend.

Those who plan to bring a guest should let Stephanie Upton or Mary Ann Norcross know so they will be able to plan enough refreshments.

The speaker will be Sue Baltrus, who has recently retired as president of the Maine College of Nursing and Health Professions at Central Maine Medical Center. She traveled to the Southern Mediterranean, visiting such places as Barcelona and Venice. She will share her experiences.

The hostesses will be Mary Ann Norcross, chairwoman, assisted by Melanie Ness and Evelyn Larrabee. All members are invited to attend and bring a guest.

Lewiston Fortier Council

LEWISTON — Members of Royal Arcanum Fortier Council 52 will gather for a meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, at the Lewiston Armory, 195 Central Ave. The council is accepting new members, and all members are encouraged to attend. For more information, call Regent Dolores Poirier at 782-8109.

Seniors to have Thanksgiving meal

AUBURN — The First Auburn Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, for a Thanksgiving dinner at the Green Ladle in Lewiston.

There were 47 members at the last meeting.

Attendance winners were Ellie Rolerson and Opal Grant; 50/50, Madge Gardner, Bernice Brooks and Nancy Hutchinson; pot of gold, Nancy Duprey, Carol Layton and Judy Holbrook.

AREA to hear speaker

LEWISTON — The Androscoggin Retired Educators’ Association will meet at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, at the Ramada Inn, when speaker will be Madelyn Given, who will talk on her recent travels.

Lunch will be a turkey dinner. The cost of the meal is $10. Members are encouraged to bring a nonperishable food item to be donated to a local food pantry.
