Legion plans Breakfast with Santa

SABATTUS — Buffet breakfast with Santa will take place from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, at American Legion Post 135.

 Santa will be there from 8 to 9:30 a.m.

Cost for adults is $7, kids 10 and under $3.

MS Christmas party and potluck

LEWISTON — The MS Christmas party and potluck supper will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, at the Lepage Conference Center, 99 Campus Ave.

There will also be a Chinese auction for those who want to participate; gifts should be in the $5-$10 range.

Poland Spring Academy vendor/craft fair

MECHANIC FALLS — Poland Spring Academy yearbook staff is hosting a vendor/craft fair from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 12 and 13, at The Mechanic Falls Church of the Nazarene, 5 Oak St.

Organizers hope to raise the funds to help with the cost of creating and printing the school yearbook.

Calvary to hold bean suppers

LEWISTON — Calvary Methodist Church will host a bean supper from 4:45 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13. Use the Bartlett Street entrance.

Cost for adults is $7.50, children $3.

Suppers are held monthly.

Bake sale, books, boutique in Wayne

WAYNE — Wayne Library will hold its holiday bake sale, book sale and boutique from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at the Williams House, 14 Old Winthrop Road.

Stock up on homemade Christmas cookies, pies, cakes and candy. Savory treats will also be available. The boutique will feature Christmas ornaments and decorations, stocking stuffers and one-of-a-kind gifts.

Don’t miss the Kinkade Hawthorne Village display; all the individual pieces will be for sale at great prices.

The book sale will be open, too, with lots of nearly new books, CDs and DVDs that make wonderful gifts.

Stop in for a cup of coffee and, new this year, a light lunch of chili, soup or quiche.

Winners of Tri-Town Family 5K

MINOT — The third annual Tri-Town Family 5K took place on Nov. 9 and attracted 286 runners and walkers to the Minot course. Poland’s Lucas Yorkey finished first with a time of 21:19. Mia Turkington, also of Poland, was the top finishing female, completing the race in 23:54.

The Tri-Town Family 5K is a culmination and celebration of the Whittier Middle School Run Program. Students and staff participated in a nine-week Couch-to-5K program to grow as runners and work toward 5K readiness. Participants in the program set individual goals and logged progress. The program is intended to help students have healthy fun and build healthy habits in an effort to achieve a healthy lifestyle.
