Parade of Trees happening all week

MECHANIC FALLS — American Legion Post 150, at 41 Elm St., will host Santa’s Parade of Trees from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, and Thursday, Dec. 11; from noon to 5 p.m. Friday, Dec.12; and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13.

Santa will visit on Saturday.

The event will also take place Sunday, Dec. 14, as well as a Breakfast with Santa. Drawing for trees will take place after the breakfast.

Danville Grange to meet Thursday

AUBURN — Danville Junction Grange 65 will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11. A Christmas program will be presented by the lecturer. Following the meeting, refreshments will be served.

Members are reminded to bring unwrapped toys and games for the Salvation Army, and to have them at the hall by 6:45, when they will be picked up.

All members and guests are invited to attend.

Christmas concert at Durham church

DURHAM — First Congregational Church Durham will present a Christmas concert at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, at 773 Royalsborough Road.

The concert will include Christmas music featuring the church musician, Jeff Chipman, the choir, Freeport Lioness singers, lots of caroling and a few stories.

Burnt Meadow DAR luncheon Dec. 13

LEWISTON — Burnt Meadow Chapter, National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, will gather for their Christmas luncheon at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at the Chickadee Restaurant, 1472 Lisbon Road. Husbands or other support advocates are welcome.

Members who haven’t returned their ballot are asked to bring it. Bring a favorite Christmas memory to share.

Commercial Travelers meeting

MECHANIC FALLS — Twin City Council 160 of the United Commercial Travelers of America will meet at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at Bucknam Oaks.

A potluck supper will be served at the close of the business meeting.

Members are reminded to bring a wrapped gift for the gift exchange.

All members and guests are welcome.

Barbershop quartets to benefit pantry

LISBON FALLS — Downeasters Barbershop Quartets will perform at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, at Holy Trinity Church, Frost Hill Ave.

This special concert will benefit the Lisbon Area Christian Outreach Food Pantry.
