MEXICO — Stephens High School Class of 1946 will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, at the Ridlonville Diner on Main Street.

Byron Historical holding yard sale
BYRON — The 4th Annual Byron Historical Society yard sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22, at the Byron School House.
There will be food, games, books, household items, clothes and the-ever famous theater popcorn.
Grange plans yard sale
BETHEL — The Alder River Grange will hold a yard sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22, at the Hall in East Bethel, 1867 Intervale Road.
Howland, Searles family reunion planned
MERCER — The 124th Howland and Searles Reunion will be held Sunday, Aug. 23, at the Mercer Community Center on Beech Hill Road in Mercer, just off Route 2.
The reunion committee is trying to get as many family members together as possible. There will be a potluck lunch and a small auction with donated items to raise money to keep the reunion going.

Ice cream social at AL Auxiliary
RUMFORD — The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 24 of Rumford will be hosting an ice cream social event from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23, at the Post.
American Legion, Auxiliary and Sons of American Legion members and their guests are invited to attend.
Attendees may give their try at the U.S. citizenship test.
Donations will be going toward funding the September birthday celebration at the Western Maine Veterans Nursing Home.
Mexico High ’49 to meet
MEXICO — Mexico High School class of 1949 will meet for lunch at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Dick’s Restaurant, 23 Bridge St. Friends and spouses are welcome.
Daughters of Union Veterans to meet
NORWAY — The Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War Hannah F. Richardson Tent No. 19, Stoneham, held their monthly meeting July 22 at the home of Kim Hansen in South Paris.
President Marilyn Jones opened the meeting, and the membership was updated on the previous convention held June 26 in Waterville.
The next meeting will be Wednesday, Aug. 26, at the home of Carlene Gavin on the shore of Norway Lake.
