World War II POWs talk

HEBRON — The next Hebron Historical Society meeting will highlight World War II prisoners of war (friend and foe), including German POWs in northern Maine.

Hank Lunn of Camden will speak at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, at the Hebron Town Office. The meeting is open to the public.

Friendship Square Dance Club offering lessons

WILTON — Friendship Square Dance Club is offering two free square dancing lessons from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays, Sept. 25, and Oct. 2, at the Academy Hill School.

Callers are Walt and Gracie Bull. They provide instructions for the different square dance moves.

The dance club is open to age 14 and older.

Legion hosting poker tournament

LOCKE MILLS — Jackson-Silver Post 68, American Legion, will host a Texas Hold Em poker tournament Monday, Sept. 25, at 595 Gore Road.

The doors will open at 5 p.m. and games will begin at 7 p.m. Meals and beverages will be available.

Maine Memory Network talk

FARMINGTON — Farmington Historical Society will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, at Luck at North Church, 118 High St.

A meeting will follow a potluck dinner.

The program will be “Maine Memory Network — How to Use it” presented by University of Maine professor Theresa Overall.

The event is open to the public. 

SeniorsPlus representatives in Norway

NORWAY — Representatives from SeniorsPlus will be in Bethel from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, at the at the Norway Town Office.

They will be on hand to answer questions or address concerns the community may have about SeniorsPlus services and resources for older adults and adults with disabilities and their families.

It is free and open to the public, but appointments are required.

VFW seeks yard sale vendors 

PARIS — VFW Post 9787 will host an inside yard sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at 58 Main St. 

Space is available for rent at $10 per table.
