Christmas fair drawing winners announced

RUMFORD — The Rumford Area Seniors have announced the winners of their Christmas Fair drawings.

Winners included: Grand prize, Margaret Deane; two turkey food baskets, Steve Chaisson; and 50/50, Barbara Richards, who donated half of her winnings back to the club.

Fifteen member-donated themed baskets went to: Jane Irish, Ann Gauvin, Joan Campbell, Bob Richards, Stephanie Wilson, Mike Wilson, Peggy Dickson, and Jeanne Duguay, Cheryl Knox, Linda Johnson and Judy Sanborn each won two.

Skeet shooting at fish and game 

WATERFORD — Recreational skeet shooting is held at 1 p.m. Saturdays and 9 a.m. Thursdays at the Waterford Fish & Game Association, Route 118.

The public is welcome and should bring a shotgun and ammo. The cost is $3 a round of 25 targets.

Heritage society to hold meeting, concert

WEST PARIS — The Finnish-American Heritage Society of Maine will hold its monthly meeting at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, at the FinnAm Center on Maple Street. 

Following a brief business meeting there will be a Christmas Kantele Concert by the ladies of A’Chording to Kantele. There will be treats and Christmas music at the meeting.

This event is open to the public.

Post to hold annual Christmas party

RUMFORD — The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 24 will host their annual Christmas Party for all Legion, Auxiliary, SAL members and their guests on Saturday, Dec. 15.
Social hour will be from 6 to 7 p.m. with finger foods and appetizers being served.  Noel and Don will play from 7 to 11 p.m. Cost per person is $10. Sign up  and pay at the post. 
Post to hold children’s Christmas party
JAY — The Children’s Christmas Party will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at the VFW Hall on the corner of Jewell Street and Franklin Road (Route 133).

There will be face painting, games, crafts and entertainment. Santa and Mrs. Claus will available for photos with the children. This event is for children 10 and under.

FMH Auxiliary to hold holiday event

FARMINGTON — The Franklin Memorial Hospital Auxiliary gift shop will host a special holiday family event from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9. Activities will take place in the Bass Room with the exception of visits with the live reindeer outside the building. Proceeds benefit the FMH Auxiliary.

A sit-down tea with Mrs. Claus will be at 2:15 p.m. Those interested in attending should purchase tickets in advance at the gift shop at hospital on the Wilton Road.

There will be goodies available from Mrs. Claus’ kitchen, a Letters to Santa table, coloring, games and crafts, a holly boutique featuring gifts under $5, as well as visits with the reindeer. At 3:45 p.m. Mrs. Claus will read “Polar Bear Wish.”
