MLT open house during GMOW

BETHEL — Mahoosuc Land Trust will celebrate Great Maine Outdoor Weekend on Sunday, Oct. 1, at the new MLT office, Valentine Farm Conservation Center, 162 North Road.

The new Universal Access Trail will be open with members from Maine Adaptive Sports demonstrating accessible cycles.

Domestic Violence Awareness Vigil 

JAY — Safe Voices will hold the annual Domestic Violence Awareness Vigil at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2, at French Falls Park. It will be the first time Jay hosts the vigil, held to honor those who are experiencing or who have experienced domestic violence, and memorialize those who have lost their lives to domestic violence.

The vigil, free and open to the public, includes a speak-out where survivors and their loved ones have a chance to share their stories with the community.

Book Café to meet

MEXICO — The Mexico Public Library Book Café, the adult reading group, will meet on the first Wednesday of each month from 5:45 to 7 p.m.

New members are always welcome. 

AMVETS Post 777 to meet 

PARIS — AMVETS Post 777, which serves the Oxford Hills, holds monthly meetings at 6:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of the month at the American Legion, 12 Church Street.

The next meeting will be Thursday, Oct. 5.

Meetings are open to all veterans.

Bethel Seniors to meet

BETHEL — The Bethel Senior Citizens Club will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, at the Funky Red Barn for a meeting and dinner.

The menu is prime rib 1or baked fish for $16; $2 is being paid by the club. Reservations and meal choices must be made before Sunday, Oct. 1.
