Historical Society plans holiday party

WEST PARIS — The December meeting of the West Paris Historical Society will be at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, at the home of Ken and Sandra Poland.

The meeting is open to members only. Those attending should bring a gift for their own gender along with a dish to share. 

The snow date will be Thursday, Dec. 14.

Poetry gathering at Rumford library

RUMFORD — All are welcome to join the Rumford Library’s poetry group from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14. The group will share poetry and refreshments.

Peru Historical Society to meet

PERU — The Peru Historical Society will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, at the home of Bob and Shirley Dolloff. Members will prepare a slate of officers for the coming year.

Ukulele group to lead sing-along

BRYANT POND — The Oxford Hills Ukulele Group, OHUG, will lead the annual Christmas sing-along at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, at the Whitman Memorial Library.

The free program is open to the public, and holiday refreshments will be served. 

RAQ meeting, tasting party

RUMFORD — Rumford Area Quilters will meet at noon Thursday, Dec. 14, at the Rumford United Methodist Church, Linnell Street.

RAQ members should note change of time for this meeting only.

The meeting will include a tasting party. Members are invited to bring goodies to share with the group.

Baby items will be accepted for a shower for Newborns in Need.

If school has been canceled in the area, RAQ is also canceled. All area quilters are invited.

Digital security program at library

CARRABASSETT VALLEY — A digital security program, “Fakes, Phonies & Phishing,” will be presented by Tim Flight at 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, at the Carrabassett Valley Public Library and Community Center Begin Family Community Room.
