Health center holds food drive

KINGFIELD — During its Thanksgiving food drive, Mt. Abram Regional Health Center provided six complete holiday dinners to local families, and the center’s on-site food closet, which is available whenever the center is open, has been restocked.

In total, the health center received more than $600 in monetary donations, $400 in food and personal care items and more than $800 in food donations.

Jones Orchestra to perform

PARIS — The Jones Orchestra will play Big Band country music from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, and Thursday, Dec. 28, at the American Legion Hall.

Admission is $5.

The AMVETS will tend the counter.

Waterford to celebrate Christmas

WATERFORD — Waterford will celebrate Christmas with the community Saturday, Dec. 16. 

Christmas music by the choir and local musicians will be played at 4 p.m. at the Waterford Congregational Church, Plummer Hill Road.

A carol sing around the town Christmas tree will follow at 4:30 p.m.

The event will conclude with pizza, hot cider, a Christmas story and visit from Santa at 5 p.m. at the library. There will be gift books for the children and music by the brass quintet at the Town Library, 663 Waterford Road, Routes 35 and 37.
