Brothers with Oxford Hills ties earn Eagle Scout rank

NORWAY — Brothers Rafferty and Chancellor Wyatt have earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

Rafferty’s project was a memorial garden, designed and built at his community town hall in Rancho Viejo, Texas.

Rafferty earned his Eagle Scout badge March 24, 2016, at the age of 16 and he continued on to earn three Eagle Scout Palms. His final Silver Palm represented an additional 15 merit badges beyond those required for Eagle Scout.

Chancellor’s project was designing and constructing six shade benches for the tennis courts at his high school in Los Fresnos, Texas. He earned his Eagle Scout badge May 24 this year and his Eagle Scout Court of Honor was conducted July 12. Also an Eagle Scout at age 16, he will continue to earn his Eagle Scout Palms.

The two teens are sons of Eagle Scout parents, Matthew and Patti Alberi Wyatt. She is a a 1980 graduate of Oxford Hills High School in Paris.

The boys’ grandfather, the late James E. Alberi Sr., showed his grandsons his love of the outdoors and helped them learn skills of hiking, shooting, boating, fishing, animal-watching and fire-building during their many summer vacations in Maine.

Their grandmother, Marguerite Alberi of Norway, donated the Eagle Scout plaques that mark each of their grandsons’ projects. She will receive a Grandparent Eagle Scout pin.
