JAY — The Budget Committee will hold a special meeting Wednesday to vote on a school warrant article to re-authorize $8,429.81 in state reimbursement funds to go into a capital improvement account.
The Jay School Department had a facility study run on all the schools in 2004 and the state has reimbursed the town for the cost, Superintendent Robert Wall said Monday.
The School Committee approved putting the money into the school system’s short-term capital improvement account on Thursday. The money would be used for repair projects.
The Budget Committee will now review the proposed article and make a recommendation on whether it should be approved or not in June.
The article was included in the town report, which is now out, with a notice that it had not gone before the School or Budget committees.
Compost is available for residents
JAY — Compost is now available at the town’s transfer station for Jay residents.
Each person is allowed to get one pickup truck load of compost free of charge. However, there is a waiver form to be signed for liability purposes.
