Money for Special Olympics

Lewiston Police officers Craig Johnson, left, and Bill Rousseau, center, accept more than $1,500 in cash and checks from DaVinci's Eatery manager Holly Piper. The money was collected Thursday night during a Special Olympics fundraiser at the Lewiston restaurant. Because so many customers were using credit cards and did not have cash, Davinci's owner Jules Patry allowed patrons to put a special "tip" on their bill, and on Friday afternoon gave cash to the cops in those amounts, plus donating an additional $100 from the restaurant. Behind them were other staffers who were working Thursday night, from left, Devin MacDonald, Yaicha Provencher, Erica Betts and Stephanie Woodworth.
