MONMOUTH — The Monmouth (Area) Youth Theater will offer a December production of Stone Soup: A Classic Tale of Sharing and has put out the call for soldiers, villagers and neighbors and all manner of other budding actors/actresses. There are multiple parts prepared for any boy or girl in the Monmouth area, ages pre-K and older. There is room for 30 children, with parts given on a first-come, first-served basis.
There will be an informational meeting for parents and interested actors/actresses from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 7, at the Packard Activity Center (under the United Church of Monmouth on Main Street). Contacting Nancy Ludewig ahead of time will get a child’s name on the list. Bring questions and a pen to the meeting.
The production will feature regular rehearsals during after-school hours every Monday beginning on Monday, Sept. 14, in the lower level of Cumston Hall or at Packard Activity Center. Rehearsals will be three groups of children at three different times, depending on the play parts given. There will be two performance dates, Friday and Saturday, Dec. 11 and 12, at Cumston Hall in Monmouth.
