‘Camp’ for new dads announced for June

LEWISTON – Boot Camp for New Dads is an education program for first-time fathers. Taught by fathers, Boot Camp helps new dads step up to the challenge of being a dad and to feel confident about bringing the new baby home.

The three-hour workshop will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday June 19, at Advocates for Children, B Street Community Center, 57 Birch St.

The class gives expecting fathers the hands-on practice of taking care of a baby, under the guidance of veteran dads who bring their new babies to class. Along with baby care, the class reviews the changing role of fathers and how to meet the needs of new mothers.

There is no charge for the program for new fathers. For more information or to register, contact Advocates for Children at 783-3990 or visit www.advocatesforchildren.net.

Advocates for Children is a participating United Way agency and a recipient of the Lewiston Community Development Block Grant.
