Camperships available for local children

RUMFORD – The River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition has once again secured funding to offer camperships for local children ages 5 to 12 to attend the Greater Rumford Community Center Day Camp at Black Mountain.

Due to a grant from the Agnes M. Lindsay Trust, camperships for up to four weeks are available to River Valley area children who might not otherwise afford the $70 weekly fee to attend.

The trust supports a number of health and welfare organizations, health projects, special needs, including the blind, deaf and learning disabled, the elderly, children’s hospital, children’s homes, youth organizations, youth/family services and summer camperships/summer enrichment programs.

To receive an application for a campership, contact the Healthy Communities at 364-7408 or e-mail [email protected] Applications are also available at the Greater Rumford Community Center or at the RVHCC office located at 94 River St.
