FALLSTON, MD. – Pastor Carl H. Stevens II, 78, died June 3, 2008 at his home in Fallston, Md. He was the youngest of seven children born to Carl Henry Stevens and Ada Thayer Stevens on Nov. 4, 1929 in Sumner.

He was married to Barbara Rowe for 31 years, before she died from her battle with leukemia. Together they worked with the Gideons in the Central Maine area and helped at the West Sumner Bible Church.

He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing a variety of music with his wife, Barbara. Stevens also pastored the Woolwich-Wiscasset Baptist Church, the Bible Speaks in Berwick and Lenox, Mass. and founded the Greater Grace World Outreach in Baltimore, Md.

Carl Stevens’ favorite past-times were spending time playing baseball with his brothers and cousins, bowling and his life long love of the Red Sox.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Baum; his oldest daughter, Pamela and her husband, Gerald Morrison; son, Bruce Stevens and wife, Maila; son, Carl (Steve) Stevens and wife, Marcie; son, Paul Stevens and wife, Barbara; daughter, Melody and husband, Shaun Redgate; and daughter, Donna; his brother, Howard Stevens and wife, Edith of Canton; 16 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren; plus numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by siblings, Marion Hazelton, Irene Eastman, Dwight Stevens, Stanley Stevens and Harley Stevens.
