Carter – Delamater


BETHEL – The wedding of Emily Lyndell T. Carter and Matthew Roland Delamater was held at 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 19 at the Bethel Meetinghouse in Bethel. The Rev. John Tokaz officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Delamater is the daughter of David and Anne Carter of Oxford. Mr. Delamater is the son of Jim and Jean Delamater of Oxford.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an ivory gown in mermaid style with champagne details. She carried a bouquet of gladiolas in dark purples, pinks, reds and white, which was the favorite flower of her grandmother.

Anne Carter was matron of honor for her daughter, and bridesmaids were Jessica Person and Sarah Carter, sisters, and Julia O’Donnell and Zakia Anderson, friends. Lily Schutt, niece of the bride, was flower girl.

The father of the bridegroom, Jim Delamater, was best man, and ushers were Chris Delamater, brother of the bridegroom, and Matthew Farinelli, Dan Truman and Garrett Goldsmith, friends.

A reception followed at the Delamater home, after which the couple traveled to Quebec City. They are residing in Auburn.

The bride attended Lesley College and the University of Southern Maine, and is currently finishing school.

The bridegroom is a graduate of St. Joseph’s College in Standish, and is employed at Northeast Bank.
