AUBURN — Director Pat Phillips has announced the cast and crew for the Community Little Theater production of the comedy “Beau Jest,” which will open Friday, March 21.
Sarah is a nice Jewish girl with a problem: her parents want her married to a nice Jewish boy. She tells them she is dating a Jewish doctor, even though her real boyfriend — whom they have never met — is a WASP executive named Chris. Problems arise when her parents insist on meeting this non-existent young doctor. Over the protests of Chris, Sarah plans a dinner party and employs an escort service to send her a Jewish date who will pretend to be “Dr. Steinberg.” Instead, they send Bob, an aspiring actor who agrees to perform this improbable impersonation. What happens then? Lots of laughs suitable for the whole family.
Vicki Machado will play the role of Sarah and Paul Menezes will appear as the actor Bob. Sue Pilote and Sean Wallace will take on the roles of Sarah’s parents Miriam and Abe. Playing the role of Chris will be Zachary Powell and Eric Cyr will appear as Sarah’s brother Joel.
The producer for “Beau Jest” is Glynnis Nadel and Kay Myrick is serving as assistant director and stage manager, assisted by Tyler Pulk. Other crew members are Richard Martin, light design; Eileen Messina and Chiara Ferrante, costume design; Chad Gagnon, sound design; Bill Hamilton and Phil Vampatella, set design/construction; Roger Philippon, publicity; Linda Sherwood, properties; Carole Hodgkin, Dan Burgess, and Vicky Westleigh, set decor; and Celeste Philippon, crew mentor.
Show dates are March 21, 22, 27, 28, 29 at 7:30 p.m. and March 23 and 30 at 2 p.m. All performances will be held at the Great Falls Performing Arts Center at 30 Academy Street. Tickets may be ordered at www.laclt.com or by calling 207-783-0958.
