How to stand out Knight Ridder Newspapers

Apr 13, 2003 12:00 am

Polish your resume. Focus on skills and accomplishments, not a list of responsibilities at each job.

Use your network. A personal referral can be very helpful, especially if it's from someone who knows your work.

Target your search. If you apply for too many different positions with one organization, you'll look like you don't know what you want.

Many people are still unclear about what an extension really means. A valid extension simply means that your tax return will not be subject to a penalty for late filing.
