Angelina Pruyn

STOUGHTON, Mass. — Angelina A. (Spugnardi) Pruyn, a 51-year resident of Bridgewater, Mass., died peacefully on Nov. 19. She was 77.
She was born in Lewiston in 1932 to the late Emile and Edna Spugnardi. She was a graduate of St. Mary's School of Nursing.
LEWISTON — Evelyn A. Snyder, 68, of Hazel Street, Auburn, died Tuesday, Nov. 17. at St. Mary's Hospital with her family by her side.
She was born in Rumford on June 2, 1941, the daughter of the late Anthony and Louise Derocco. She was educated in Rumford schools.
Lewis Walter Jackson

LEWISTON — Lewis W. Jackson, 84, of Copper Ridge Road, Greene, died Wednesday, Nov. 18, at the Russell Park Rehabilitation Center surrounded by his family.
He was born in Auburn on Nov. 23, 1924, the son of Cyril and Carrie (Riggs) Jackson. He was raised by his grandparents, Walter and Olive Jackson, after the death of his father when he was four years old. He attended Livermore Falls High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from March 18, 1943, to April 28, 1946, and re-enlisted to serve until 1968.
RUMFORD — Alvin J. Arsenault, 87, of Rumford, died Thursday, Nov. 19, at his home surrounded by his loving family, after a long courageous battle with Parkinson's disease and cancer.
He was born on Sept. 25, 1922, in Tignish, P.E.I., Canada, the son of Winifred and Calais Arsenault. He attended local schools and graduated from Mexico High School in 1941.
Donald "Donnie" St. Hilaire Jr.
Auburn — Donald "Donnie" St. Hilaire Jr., 59, of Beacon St. died Wednesday morning, Nov. 18, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin following a courageous battle with cancer with his family by his side.
Born in Lewiston on Sept. 14, 1950, the son of Donald Sr. and Rena (Lapointe) St. Hilaire, he attended Lewiston High School prior to entering the U.S. Navy.
Lewis "Bill" W. Mosher
1932 - 2009
AUBURN — Lewis "Bill" W. Mosher, 77, of Auburn passed away Tuesday, Nov. 17, in Auburn.
He was born March 24, 1932, in Cornville, the son of the late Verne P. and Myrtle E. (Wescott) Mosher.
He was educated in the Cornville Schools, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
He worked as a truck driver in the Lewiston-Auburn area.
He enjoyed building items out of things other people would throw away.
Amelia M. Waliski

NORTH MONMOUTH — Amelia M. Waliski, 99, died early Wednesday morning, Nov. 18, at her residence in North Monmouth.
She was born in North Monmouth on Aug. 17, 1910, the daughter of Konstanty and Elizabeth (Luski) Waliski.
She was not only born in North Monmouth and educated in Monmouth schools, but it is also where she chose to live her entire life. Remarkably, she was the oldest citizen in town before she passed and thus was the recipient of the Boston Cane.
Shirley B. Warren

PHOENIX, Ariz. — Shirley Barbara (Abbott) Warren, 83, loving mother, nana, sister and friend, finished her journey in this life and returned to her Lord and Savior on Nov. 9 in Phoenix, Ariz.
She was born in Mechanic Falls, March 7, 1926. She graduated from Farmington State Teachers College and received her master's degree from Northern Arizona University.
She taught home economics in Maine and Bagdad, Ariz. Later she was a caregiver for many people.
Agnes Kaschub Moore

AUBURN - Agnes Kaschub Moore, 97, of Schooner Estates, 200 Stetson Road, Auburn, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, at Hospice House in Auburn.
Born in Springfield, Mass., on Nov. 16, 1911, she was the daughter of Robert W. and Annie M. Cooper. She graduated from Springfield High School and Chelsea Memorial Hospital Nursing School. She married Robert W. Kaschub, MD, on June 27, 1936. Dr. Kaschub passed away in 1977.
Jeanne E. "Betty" Atwell

ELLSWORTH — Jeanne Elizabeth "Betty" Atwell of Yarmouth died Wednesday, Nov. 18, following surgery for a broken leg at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth.
She was born March 26, 1922, in Madison, the daughter of Merle and Beryl (Fletcher) Yeaton. The family moved to Massachusetts shortly thereafter and she was raised in the Framingham-Natick area, graduating from Framingham High School in 1940.
In 1941 she married Stanley R. Atwell.
Robert A. LaPlante

LIVERMORE FALLS — Robert A. LaPlante, 83, of Livermore Falls, died unexpectedly on Nov. 11 at his home in Livermore Falls.
He was born on Nov. 22, 1925, in Rumford, the son of Alphonse and Aldea (Michaud) LaPlante. He attended local schools but, in an effort to help his family, left to work in the paper mill.
He joined the Armed Forces and served in Korea, receiving the Army Commendation Medal. He was always very proud to be a veteran.
Phyllis A. Lowe

DAMARISCOTTA — Phyllis A. Lowe, 87, of West Paris, formerly of Bryant Pond, died Nov. 17 at Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta in the loving care of the nursing staff and hospice team after a courageous battle with cancer. She refused to spend her days dying of cancer, instead living fully and vitally to the end.
Lillian A. Gagne

LEWISTON — Lillian A. Gagne, 73, a resident of Hotel Rd., Auburn, died unexpectedly Monday at Central Maine Medical Center with her family by her side.
She was born in Lewiston, June 2, 1936, and raised in Danville, the daughter of George and Vilda (Coffin) Cothran.
Together with her husband, Lionel, she owned and operated the former Leo's Variety in Auburn for many years, and most recently she had been employed with Martindale Country Club.
THE VILLAGES, FLA. — Dwight M. Merrill, 68, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Nov. 14, while at his winter home in The Villages, Fla.
Born on Jan. 5, 1941, to Alfred and Margaret Merrill of Bethel, he attended local schools. On May 26, 1961 he married Elaine McPherson of Rumford.
Gaston "Gus" R. Thibodeau

BROOMFIELD, COLO. — Gaston "Gus" R. Thibodeau, age 60, died in Broomfield, Colo., on Oct. 14.
He was born in Lewiston on May 21, 1949, the son of Alphee and Doris Lagrange Thibodeau.
Everette A. Owens

LEWISTON — Everette A. Owens, 70, of Oxford, died Saturday, Nov. 14, in Lewiston at Central Maine Medical Center, with his loyal caregivers on M1.
He was born on Oct. 24, 1939, in Canton, the son of Austin and Margaret (Williams) Owens. He graduated from Oxford High School in 1958. He enlisted in the Air Force on Jan. 7, 1959, serving his country with honor for four years.
GAFFNEY, S.C. — Thomas Horace Simmerson, 56, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 14, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 10, 1953, in Detroit, Mich., he was the husband of Anita Cloutier Simmerson, formerly of Lewiston, and the son of the late Horace L. Simmerson and Hattie Beatrice Harris Simmerson. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

LEWISTON — Paul Leo Plante, 80, of 4 Grande Avenue, Lewiston, died Monday, Nov. 16, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Lewiston on April 24, 1929, he was the son of Emile and Estelle Carboneau Plante. Educated locally, he was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the U.S. Navy. His first wife, the former Mary Mosely, passed away in 1961.

BETHAL — Elizabeth Chase Robertson, 84, of Bethel, died on Nov. 15, at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway with her family by her side.

AUBURN — Robert Bruce Adkins, 81, a life-long resident of Auburn, died early Sunday morning at his home.
The son of Oscar and Gladys (Bubier) Adkins, Robert was born Sept. 6, 1928. He was raised in Auburn, where he graduated from Edward Little High School.
Cecile Dickey

Rumford — Cecile Edna Dickey, 87, of Roxbury, began her journey home to be with her Lord and her beloved husband — W. Elliott Dickey, who passed away on May 15, 1986 — surrounded by her family and loved ones on Saturday, Nov.14.
She was born on Sept. 30, 1922, in Lac Magantic, Quevec, Canada. She was the daughter of the late Adelard and Philomene Nadeau. In 1926, her family moved to the Moosehead Lake area. She was educated in local schools and in Canada.
Charles C. Felker

Auburn — Charles C. Felker Sr., 78, died on Nov. 15, after a short stay at the Hospice House in Auburn.
He was born in Poland on March 4, 1931, the son of Herbert, Sr. & Alice (Strout) Felker.
He attended schools in Poland and Mechanic Falls, and graduated from Mechanic Falls High School in 1950.
JAY —Verne Leroy Merrow died on Nov. 15 at Franklin Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 20, 1922, in Hartford, the son of Edna and Ray Merrow. He graduated from Canton High School in 1940 and entered the military. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Force where he was a mechanic on a B24 Liberator Bomber in the European Theatre.
