AUBURN - Mt. Blue defeated the Auburn Recreation eighth-grade football team in a battle of unbeatens, 22-8.
Mt. Blue opened the scoring on a 23-yard run by Kindall Bosall. Andrew Pratt scored a rushing touchdown and threw a touchdown pass to Dustin Richards. Henry Nguyen scored for Auburn on a 51-yard touchdown run.

Allyn Bain of Industry carded an ace on No. 7 at Wilson Lake Country Club in Wilton. Bain used a 7-iron to cover 140 yards. Damon Waltz and Katie McLellan witnessed the feat.
Mary Brandes produced a hole-in-one on the 130-yard eighth hole at Belgrade Lakes Golf Club during a WMSGA tournament. Martha White, Pennie Cummings and Kristin Kannegieser were Brandes' playing partners.

WALTHAM, Mass. - Lewiston's Nicole Court-Menendez and Auburn's Abby Dunn celebrated titles Sunday in theNational 1-Hour Race Walk Championship on the campus of Bentley College.
Court-Menendez, a sophomore at Lewiston High School, won her first junior national title by walking 9,859 meters in one hour, an improvement of 879 meters from last year. In addition to the title in her age bracket, Court-Menendez placed fourth overall.
Dunn was the second-ranking junior and fifth overall at 9,705 meters, a gain of 837 meters from last fall.

Jeffrey Clark Jr. was the offensive workhorse, finishing with 240 yards and touchdown runs of 7, 57, 53 and 68 yards. Jason Gonzalez and Ryan Jones each cashed in extra points, and Joey Gonzalez caught a two-point conversion pass from Chad Hinkley.
