AUBURN - NAPA Auto Parts moved into a tie for first place in the Auburn Rec Players League West Division with a crushing 12-1 victory over the Assassins at Pettingill Park. NAPA scored 11 runs in the first four innings, while holding the Assassins scoreless into the seventh to knock the Assassins from the mountaintop and move into a deadlock with Team Argo.

WESTBROOK - The 19th annual high school All-Star Soccer Tournament is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday at Westbrook High School. Rain date is Thursday. All proceeds benefit Special Olympics Maine.
Teams will represent the Western Maine Conference and Southern Maine Activities Association. All players were 2009 graduates of their respective high schools. The women's game will begin at 6 p.m., with the men at 8 p.m.
AUBURN - Team Argo captured its 10th win and remained in sole possession of first place in the Auburn Men's Player's Softball League, pounding out a season-high 24 hits in a 25-4 rout of Main-Land Development.
Scott Tiner and Toby Tiner Jr. combined for eight hits, including four doubles. Ray Schofield, Ben Lachance, Mike Dyer and Bill Sutherland added three hits apiece. Del Cooper was the winning hurler. He also added three hits.

LITCHFIELD - Steve Foss of Wales recorded his first career hole-in-one Tuesday at The Meadows Golf Club. Foss used a 4-iron to cover the 190-yard, par-3 fifth hole. Playing partners were Tim Tracy of Litchfield, Dave Cutter of Auburn and Ron Bernard of Sabattus.

BUCKFIELD - The Buckfield girls farm softball team enjoyed an outstanding 2009 season, reaching its league final before sustaining a 6-2 loss to Sumner.
Buckfield was 4-4 at the midway point of the season but went on a seven-game unbeaten streak before falling in the North division championship game to regular-season champ Sumner. Buckfield finished 10-5-1, with that tie coming against Sumner. That record was good enough for second overall in the regular season.

Rich Zink of Minot notched a hole-in-one on the seventh hole at Hebron Pines RV & Golf. Zink dropped his Titleist into the cup with with a 7-iron on the 163-yard hole. Gary and Linda Bartlett witnessed the feat.
At Maple Lane in Livermore, Warren Forbes registered his first career ace in the men's league. Forbessolved the 158-yard, par-3 seventh hole. Cecil Leavitt, Mac Haynes and Stan Wuori were Forbes' playing partners.

LEWISTON — The Elliot Avenue Little League 9-10 All-Stars advanced to the state tournament in Ellsworth by going undefeated in the District 5 tournament.
AUBURN — The Elliot Avenue Little League 11-12 all-star team recently won the District 5 championship played at the New Auburn Little League complex.
Outstanding team defense and pitching helped secured the team's second consecutive championship. Lewiston defeated Winslow in the championship game, 2-0. Lewiston had topped Auburn Suburban 4-1 in the opening round, followed by a 1-0 pitching duel verses Winslow. In Game 3, Lewiston beat Augusta 7-4 to secure a berth in the championship game.
