AUBURN — Cecile Katherine Chasse Levasseur, 90, died on April 10, at Clover Healthcare, where she had been a resident for the past 11 months, and had been in declining health for the past five years.
She was born Nov. 22, 1919, in Fall River, Mass., the daughter of Aime and Annie Beaulieu Chasse. She attended Lewiston schools, and worked in local mills until her marriage to Roland J. Levasseur on Dec. 4, 1939. She was a homemaker all of her adult life. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed quilting in her later years, and was also a caretaker for many family members throughout her adult life. She was an active member of Holy Cross Parish for 60 years and a member of Holy Cross senior citizen group for many years, and loved to travel with the group. She spent several winters with her niece in Ft. Myers, Fla.
Surviving family members include a daughter, Florence Levasseur Annear and husband, Douglas, of Minot; a son, Roger M. Levasseur and wife, Betty, of Parkton, Md.; nine grandchildren, Suzanne Harlow, Kathleen Harlow Labbe, Steven Harlow, Scott Annear, Douglas J. Annear, Michael Levasseur, Matthew Levasseur, Darleen Levasseur Guinan and Jacqueline Levasseur Patt; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Roland Levasseur; a daughter, Therese Levasseur Harlow; a son, Robert A. Levasseur; brothers, George Chasse, Arthur Chasse, Lee Chasse, and John Norman Chasse; and a sister, Aurore Chasse Michaud.
