Center for Wisdom’s Women lists programs

LEWISTON — The Center for Wisdom’s Women, 97 Blake St., a local drop-in center for women, formerly known as Wisdom’s Center, has announced its upcoming programs for March, including three ongoing small groups that focus on strength and growth: Strong Women, Wisdom Circle and YANA (You Are Not Alone).

Strong Women meets at 1 p.m. Mondays and presents a story of a historical or fictional woman of strength, followed by discussion about what the story teaches.

Wisdom Circle provides a safe place for exploring sources of wisdom, with a current focus on stress management. The group meets twice a month on Tuesdays.

The YANA group focuses on seeking, nurturing and celebrating the best of seomeone as a person and a woman. It gathers at 10 a.m. every other Thursday.

The series on “Wisdom for Your Life” will continue with a workshop on Wednesday, March 24, that will discuss menopause and other women’s health issues and resources.

The monthly nutrition workshop led by Denise Dill from the Nutrition Center is planned for Friday, March 5. Other workshops include a writing workshop at 10 a.m. Mondays, and part two of a workshop on softening and managing pain on Friday, March 26, with Peg Hoffman leading.

These and other programs and groups are scheduled at 10 a.m. each weekday morning, and at 1 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Activities include painting, various crafts, card making and scrapbooking. All events at the center are offered free of charge. No registration is needed.
